The second the steely fuzz of “Masterpiece” drops, you know why Method Man is here. While The Wow sounds justifiably at home, kicking a couple lines of note (“I bring fire to the world–Prometheus / Catch me sailing ‘cross the seven seas–Odysseus”) and sounding grimy on the hook, Meth is in a different realm. He’s so at home he puts his feet up and gets dirt all on the sofa, in the best way possible. The lines, packed with more meaningful punch than the average Method Man verse, just fall into place: “I’m a real man, feed my family then feed my dogs / Nothin’ left but humble pie and them haters can eat it all.”
