It’s interesting when an artist takes an experimental approach to music and deviates from the accepted sound of a particular region. Take Raury, the 17-year-old singer/song writer from Atlanta, as an example. His song, “God’s Whisper,” and its accompanying video, seem more theatrical in nature than what is to be expected from the South. He delivers a visually artistic approach that is comparable to artists such as Lana Del Rey, but mixed with his own originality. Raury, who is inspirited by Andre 300, Kid Cudi and Bon Iver, is an up and coming artist whose vision is unique and sure to alter the perception of how the South should sound.
