February is prime-time for sneakers. To make their mark in the crucial month, Scooter Braun is relaunching the emblematic British Knights sneaker. Popularized in the ’80s and ;90s, the British Knights have always had a strong association with hip-hop culture. The kicks are stand out due to their thick soles, “BK” logos on the heel, and extra-large tongues.
Because of their durability and flashy design, the British Knights have been sported by icons such as Kool Moe Dee and M.C. Hammer, among others. Scooter Braun and British Knights founders Jack Schwartz Shoes, Inc. hired Darren Romanelli, aka DRx, to revamp the high-tops. The shoes will be on sale March 15 in selected, high-end retailers. Braun explains the thought behind this year’s edition:
Though the shoes will be reminiscent of those beloved from back in the day, the sneakers will be injected with a fresh, youthful take on the classic BK.

DRx modernized the iconic shoe by reworking the distinctive colors and patterns in order to give off a more playful and dynamic silhouette.
