Vulnerable, distinct, and true to himself, Open Mike Eagle raps about everything from insecurities, to parenting, to hating white people on the unusual “Qualifiers.” We loved this song when we heard it live, when it dropped as a single, and now, with the addition of a uniquely-warped video, we only have more reasons to be happy. The intensely jarring and striking effects add both a sense of urgency to the somewhat yawning song’s pace, as well playing on themes of the toggle between partiality and wholeness, imperfection and perfection.
