After releasing his acclaimed album, Watching Movies With The Sound Off, in June 2013, Mac Miller and independent label and management company Rostrum Records have parted ways after the contract they originally signed expired. In spite of the split, the company and the MC remain “family,” as Mac puts it. This ends a four year connection between the artist and the company. In their statement, Rostrum Records’ founder and president, Benjy Grinberg, said:
“Mac is an incredible artist and has a bright career ahead of him[…] We are proud of the historic run that we had together and we will continue to support him in any way that is needed. We wish him nothing but the best in the future.”
