While OutKast‘s much-discussed reunion has received most of the buzz early on this year, many people are forgetting the fact that another legendary hip-hop duo will be releasing their first joint effort since 2006 sometime in the next 12 months. Havoc and Prodigy, both of whom have found solo success in their own right, give listeners a taste of what to expect from The Infamous Mobb Deep, which will be their eighth studio album, on “Taking You Off Here.” The track features the two Queens MCs spitting their typically sinister bars over an even more sinister beat, all of which culminates in a gritty track emblematic of the New York rap scene Mobb Deep flourished in during the ’90s. It’s dark, it’s menacing, it’s worth a listen. Check out “Taking You Off Here” below.
