It’s easy to forget how talented the Save Money Crew is beyond hip-hop. For “Hey Jane,” Vic Mensa and Donnie Trumpet team up with rock band Mike Golden and Friends for a funky, bluesy breakup ballad that features some exhilarating guitar work and fierce vocals. Vic really kills, the verse, but that’s to be expected. Donnie‘s role is less apparent – it’s kind of hard to parse out the trumpet – but the overall product is solid, so he delivered too, no doubt. The song is featured on Utopia, the band’s recent album, which was released earlier today. Listen to “Hey Jane” below and check out the full album here.
