The boy Michael Christmas just dropped another joint named after someone. (It’s not just anyone, the song’s title comes from the bluntly hilarious Chappelle’s Show character from the “Trading Spouses” and “World Series of Dice” skits.) “Leonard Washington” finds the Boston goofball rhyming over Thelonious Martin‘s expert production–you’ve got to love that deep flute at about 1:05. Mickey talks shit in his usually unusual, backwards way: “I can’t even pass a math test, nigga / I do raps like Magellen and Mapquest, nigga.” Young Christmas is quickly becoming one of the funniest MCs without a national audience. If he doesn’t get any less funny, that whole non-national thing will have to change.
