Mike G isn’t as prolific as some of the other members of Odd Future , but he absolutely shares their versatility. Again linking up with Hurtboy AG and Ralphs One, Mike G brings us “Nesta,” a mellow, stunted track that slowly sprawls out like arms during the first yawn of the day. Mike G has a certain “respect” when it comes to approaching a track and it shows here. Rather than suffocating an instrumental, he gives it space, allowing it to feel comfortable in its own skin before he seduces it with his smooth rhymes. This respect not only allows the instrumental (and the producers who made it) to get some recognition, but it allows Mike G to really pace his uniquely slow flow, casually releasing it like a slow exhale from a relaxing blunt. Listen below. Mike G‘s upcoming mixtape, Mike Check Vol. II, should be an interesting affair.
