Because of the importance of images in the music world, artists often feel obligated to make videos for their songs, even if the songs don’t particularly lend themselves to being visualized. We’ve grown to accept this because sometimes artists bring songs to life by visualizing them in ways we hadn’t anticipated, but when you really think about it, that rarely happens. Many videos exist just because they can. “Killer Tofu” isn’t one of those videos.
Embracing the free, comical spirit of the song, California crew OverDoz lets loose in a slew of single-frame shots that were filmed in a white room. It’s not particularly edgy or clever, but it doesn’t need to be, hence the Childish Gambino skit in the middle: attempting to make it either of those things is silly. Watch below.
