Instrumental albums aren’t known for their cleverness, but the cover of Oddisee‘s upcoming project promises just that. At first glance, we see perhaps the world’s most boring album cover–dull, grey blinds, and the title in plain font. Taking the title into account, however, the reaction is flipped. The ball finds its way into the viewer’s court, as you are challenged to forsake instant gratification in what seemed initially artless. Oddisee could have written an album’s worth of raps, but he wants you to appreciate the blinds instead of brushing them aside to get to the window. Appreciate “Lonely Planet” below.
