Music is all about energy for L.A. native, Iman Omari; personal feeling and cosmic flow translate directly into his sound, and when collaborating with artists he places an emphasis on good chemistry. The result is a distinct ethereal vibe that radiates far beyond any given track, but is somehow contained by it at the same time. This may sound abstract, and I guess it is; Iman Omari‘s music is like tapping into a good feeling who’s source you can’t exactly identify.
On his latest record, “Aqua Boogie,” from the upcoming project ESC vol. 1, Omari weaves distorted traces of Aaliyah’s “Rock the Boat” into jazzy piano embellishments and warm percussion, making for a chill summer groove.
