California producer LDontheCut has a lot of range. Whether he’s remixing Wiz Khalifa or producing for long time collaborator Ariano, his productions spring not from a well, but from a sea of influences. His latest offering, “Worked Up,” starts with energized drums and chants from collaborator Pigeon John and then temporarily tones down as John slowly and enthusiastically raps over an increasingly funky beat. The song might sound “poppy” to a casual listener, but it actually gives off a big beat feel; one could easily imagine Fatboy Slim on the remix.
“Worked Up” is the second single off of LD‘s upcoming LP, Patiently Anxious, which is scheduled for release in November via Technicali Sounds. Listen below.
