We’ve been anticipating Oakland rapper Gita‘s EP since we interviewed her last month and it’s finally here. Titled Escaping the Dream World, the EP compiles some of her older material with brand new tracks produced by Brandun Deshay, Gabe Niles and more. As expected, the EP is a journey through a zany soundscape characterized by experimentation, bass and dark boasts.
What’s really interesting is Gita‘s voice: she wields it like a whip, expanding it and contracting it at will . Stream Escaping the Dream World below and look out for Gita‘s mixtape, which is due out later this summer.
Incidentally, this project was executively produced by Gita herself.
