Nas was just coming off the release of his classic album Illmatic when he did this show at The Fever, an old club that was located in the Bronx. The then-20-year-old-rapper, soon-to-be legend, took the stage and performed “One Love”, “New York State Of Mind”, “The World Is Yours”, and “Life’s A Bitch”. The crowd didn’t even really know who AZ was when he came out to assist Nas. Neither rapper was widely known at the time, but the crowd still showed Nas love. Who knows if they could tell that night that what they heard that night would one day revered as classic material, but there was undoubtedly a special mood in the room. This footage was released by DJ Tony Touch in preparation for his next album Piece Maker 3. Enjoy the throwback!
