The up-close-and-personal, gritty clip for the equally gritty “95 Til Infinity” proves to be the first Joey Bada$$ video from Summer Knights and it puts Joey’s much-evolved steez on good display. Speaking of steez, one of the more striking pieces of gear Joey rocks here is a shirt with the face of Capital STEEZ, Joey’s late highschool friend and partner-in-rhyme. It’s good to see that Joey and the Pro Era crew are doing so much to keep Steelo‘s memory alive, be it in the “Like Water” video, Joey rocking the same STEEZ shirt on the XXL Freshman Cover, or even at the end of Joey’s Freshman Freestyle, where he held up a water bottle that read “R.I.P. Capital STEEZ“. In addition to the STEEZ shirt, Joey rocks gold grills, medallions, and a hell of a ‘fro. As Joey’s rhyme style has progressed from off-kilter and somewhat mild-mannered to completely left field and abrasive, so too has his style of dress gone the more distinctive, attention-grabbing route. With boom-bap beats and NY scenery to keep his rhymes and style grounded, Joey‘s hit the sweet spot between old and new.
