Watch as Chicago’s newest rising star and one of LA’s premier electronic instrumentalists team up and craft a Song from Scratch. Chance The Rapper smokes and looks haunted and focused, while Nosaj Thing gets down to business with a glowing pad in the dark–it’s not hard to see where the somber, tense ride of “Paranoia” (skip to 2:48) from Chance’s stellar Acid Rap came from. It’s a treat to see two very distinctive and dedicated artists at work. A particularly striking moment: the end of the video, where Chance blows through one of his most astounding double times like he’s yawning.
