Black Milk has a pretty cool new project going on with illustrator Upendo “Pen” Taylor. The two have teamed up, in conjunction with Computer Ugly, for the Fuzz, Freqs & Colors series.
Synth or Soul is the first volume in this series; here we find Black Milk and Taylor exchanging instrumentals and drawings respectively, refining each piece based on the other’s work. Computer Ugly says that throughout that process, “the music [was] shaped by the visual art and the visual art [was] shaped by the music.”
You can pre-order the instrumental album on iTunes now and cop the vinyl on Record Store Day, April 20.
