In an impressive interview with SoulCulture, Mannie Fresh talks about the music industry, the lack of diversification in the culture, the next generation of producers, whether he will sign to another label and his work on the upcoming Cruel Summer album. The interview took place at the House of Blues in New Orleans during this year’s Essence Festival.
Fresh admits that his goal was not to become a producer, but a DJ. “DJing is helping get back in touch with what’s going on right now.”
