No, it’s not Lord Finesse again, but Mac Miller has been hit with another $10 million lawsuit. This time, the suit was filed by Patrick Berlinquette, also known as Warm Speakers. Berlinquette claims his song, “The World Around You,” was sampled without permission on Miller’s “Fuck ’em All” off his Macadelic mixtape. He went on to say:
“[Miller] uses other people’s music because it’s easier, cheaper, and faster than creating his own. Miller seeks to capitalize on the common misconception in Copyright Law that people whose music he takes have no remedy if he gives their music away for free.”
Miller has yet to respond, although he did give a Twitter shoutout to Warm Speakers back in June.
