It was hot, sweaty and crowded, but the music powered us through. Festival-goers came from all over the world to Parc Jean-Drapeau –Montreal’s version of Governors Island– this past weekend for 5 stages of non-stop action, as part of Osheaga 2012. This year’s killer line-up made Osheaga a necessary stop on the festival circuit, attracting more attendees than ever before. Day one’s hip-hop included Mali’s Amadou & Mariam, underground favorite Killer Mike and the ultra rare The Weeknd. Bouncing from show to show was a bit harder than expected in the crowd of thousands, but thanks to Evenko we’ve got some exclusive pics.
In the midst of the Olympics, music-lovers took a break to come together and appreciate sounds from around the world. Stay tuned for days two and three.
