RWJR is a contemporary painter who creates works using a wide variety of subjects and styles. For him, art is all about “following your bliss.” He’s amazed by the ability art has to “effect people both in a positive and in a negative way. The fact that we feel these emotions is what makes art,” he says. “My hope is that I inspire others to follow their bliss and along the way people might connect with my artwork.”
RWJR uses stylized lines along with vivid colors and humor in his works to convey powerful messages. His work is reminiscent of Jean-Michel Basquiat, CY Twombly, Jean Dubuffet and the Neo-Expressionist movement.
