Blu‘s voice and Exile‘s productions are always something to look forward to. They’re back with the new single “A Man” off of their Maybe One Day EP. The full version of the project is due out on September 4. The track sounds a bit influenced by a Southern church service with a choir-like sample sneaking in and out of the track. “A Man” explores the complexities of religion and seeking out for that/those mysterious figure(s).
I wonder who do you believe in?
I know it ain’t me
I hope it ain’t a priest or who you’ve seen on TV
I hope it ain’t your poppa, partna, he only raised you
And I know it ain’t your mom, even though that’s who you came through
I’m asking who you pray to…
