Meek Mill recently called up Q Deezy‘s show on Philadelphia’s Hot 107.9 to
debate argue with Pastor Jomo Johnson over Johnson’s attempt to boycott Meek in Philly. The two instantly began a screaming match in which very little was accomplished. Meek demanded to know where Pastor Johnson was when he was handing out coats in Blumberg and giving out pairs of Reeboks to basketball players in Strawberry Mansion.
The pastor went on to advocate that Meek’s music is doing more harm than good, saying that it promotes violence and rape. He goes on to claim that you can “Google Meek Mill and rape and you’ll find the lyrics.” [Ed. note: A Google search for those lyrics turned up empty.] The pastor says that Meek’s songs, “Amen” in particular, are disrespectful to God.
Q Deezy pointed out that the pastor’s move feels like a publicity stunt, given the fact that he never attempted to reach out to Meek privately. Meek added that he should not be singled out given the fact that action movies promote far worse things than he raps about, and noted that “Eminem raps about suicide and killing his own mother.”
Listen to the heated audio below. Is the pastor in the right here? Sound off.
