This event is a weak rip-off of an existing conference that has taken place in cities all over the country, including Los Angeles, where it will return for the 4th time this year.
What sort of “indie” event features major label people and charges $800 to perform???

Rip-off is right!!! What sort of “indie” event charges $895 DOLLARS to perform a “showcase” for “The best CEOs. A&R & Industry???” How “indie” is it when all the panelists are former major-label dudes? The supposed “$100,000 Record Deal” prize is actually with the VERY SAME DUDE who runs the event! “Recording contracts are with ACTIVATE ENTERTAINMENT LLC,” which is just another name used by the same guy who runs the IES. This is just another pay to play scam. 🙁
