Hova has been a quote machine this week, first with his announcement of a music festival in Philly, then announcing his backing of President Obama’s support of gay marriage. But what the real question on every hip-hop head’s mind was, when in the world are we finally going to get an album from Jay Electronica? Jay-Z, speaking with MTV’s Rob Markman, gives us some hope that Jay Elec’s album will drop sometime this century, stating that the project is “really close” to being finished, and calls it “amazing.”
“Him as a lyricist, it’s almost scary,” Jay-Z said.
While you must forgive hip-hop fans for not holding their collective breath waiting for Elec’s album to drop, it’s nice to hear someone with direct knowledge of the project acknowledge its presence. Hopefully it’s in our hands before the year is over.
