Slated for a 2009 release, it seemed like Rye Rye’s Go! Pop! Bang! wouldn’t ever hit stores. She hit some speed bumps — including a pregnancy — but nothing has permanently stopped her stride to the top. Since her introduction to the scene, a slew of female emcees have stormed the rap world like Iggy Azalea, Azealia Banks, and Kreayshawn, but nothing has felt as authentic as Baltimore’s Rye Rye. Equipped with a strong Baltimore accent, style, and witty old-school rap flows, Rye Rye’s record Go! Pop! Bang! should be the record to put Baltimore’s overdue stamp on the club sound in the mainstream and further diversify the female rap scene. The record featuring production from Bangladesh, the Neptunes and RedOne and guest appearances from Tyga, Akon, Robyn, M.I.A. and Porcelain Black is now available on iTunes.
