House Shoes, Detroit’s ambassador of hip-hop, has teamed up with Danny Brown, Detroit’s ambassador of hedonism, to bring us “Sweet,” a track from House Shoes’ upcoming debut album, Let it Go. House Shoes’ “Sweet” has nothing in common (get it?) with Common’s song “Sweet,” but it’s just as engaging. As usual, Danny Brown brings forth Adderal-laced bars and energy-infused ad-libs. When combined with House Shoes’ military march-cadenced instrumental, the result is intense.
Though “Sweet” will appear on Let it Go, it is also available right now on The Time, an EP that you can obtain here. Mark your calendars for June 19th. Let it Go should be interesting.
