Pete Rock expressed his issues on Twitter a few days ago about Lupe and his crew remaking the “T.R.O.Y.” beat for his new single. The beef seemed to die down, until Lupe called into Sway in the Morning to express the anger he felt over Pete’s actions.
“We’re supposed to be one big happy family and you send me out to the wolves. How am I supposed to feel about that?” said Lupe. “What are you talking about, Pete? How am I supposed to respect that?”
Lupe claims that Pete Rock did not own the “T.R.O.Y.” beat and when his camp reached out to the publishing house, they were told the beat is unclearable. Therefore, Lupe says they were forced to recreate the beat. Lupe sounds extremely heated and offended by Pete Rock’s reactions in this interview. Listen below.
