Though “What You Say to Me” was released on April 1st, it wasn’t a joke. To provide some context for the J.Cole diss, Diggy stopped by KGGI 99.1 and elaborated on the issue. Apparently the song was made over a year ago and was leaked without his knowledge. That being said, Diggy owns up to it. Citing “Family over everything,” a motto supported by his father, Diggy says that he made the track because J.Cole made some subliminal jabs at his sister Vanessa in “Purple Rain.” Watch the interview after the jump.
