In 1992, a trio named Da Youngtas emerged on the hip-hop scene with their debut album Somethin 4 Da Youngsta’s. Though only children, Da Youngstas had a very aggressive rapping style. The group’s biggest hit from their first album was “Pass Da Mic“, which peaked at number 10 on the hip-hop charts. Part of the first verse would later be sampled by DJ Premier in 1994 for the Gang Starr song “Mass Appeal.” Check out the video for the remixed version of “Pass Da Mic” below. “Once again I reveal the skill.
