Tinie Tempah’s Disc-Overy gave me pause. It was full of danceable beats and solid rhymes, but overall seemed as though it was for commercial appeal, though I don’t necessarily condemn Hip-Hop’s recent foray into the world of electronic music. Can’t knock the hustle though — it was a No. 1 debut album, and two singles– “Pass Out” and “Written in the Stars”– were chart-toppers in 2010. So how does he choose to follow it up? By getting more conscious. In an interview at the BRIT Awards, he revealed the title of his sophomore effort. The album, Demonstration, is going to cover “a lot of the things that have been going on around the world, especially in London recently,” according to BBC. I guess I could stand to see a little more substance over style from Tinie. As of now there still is no definitive release date. On the lowest of keys though, “Miami 2 Ibiza” is still the jam.
