This Saturday, February 25th, the JCC in Manhattan will be offering free seminars on urban arts, from breakdancing to graffiti. Check out some of the highlights below, and be sure to hit it up if you’re in the neighborhood!
2:30 PM – The Rock Steady Crew’s legendary Popmaster Fabel will be giving a demo and instruction on breakdancing. He will explain the history of the dance, demonstrate some of the moves and also offer some instruction. Adults and kids welcome. This WILL be FUN!
3:00 PM – Brooklyn graffiti/street art master KAVES will offer instruction on how to create your own New York City street style art. This should also be a blast and is intended for adults.
4:00 PM – Howie Abrams will be moderating a panel called Is Graffiti/Street Really Art or Just a Public Nuisance? He will be joined by Kaves, as well as former Lieutenant Detective of the NYPD Vandal Squad Steve Mona. With the recent explosion of the street art phenomenon, this is sure to be interesting. Of course questions will be encouraged and all are welcome.
