Today HBO announced some changes to their lineup, and How To Make It In America got cut like like the scrawny cat that got dunked on in tryouts. Since the last three seasons of Entourage were almost unbearable to watch, HTMIIA became a glimpse of hope. The first season was alright. Cudi’s character, Domingo, showed some comedic promise. Luis Guzmán was perfect for his role. But the real reason why I kept on tuning in every Sunday night was to see what Cam and Ben‘s next move was. I might be biased since the show actually convinced me to finally venture on up to the big city, but I thought the second season was pretty solid. The first episode started off with a bang. It got caught up in the middle, but you can’t deny the dopeness of the finale. Crisp had jeans now! What was next for Crisp? What was going to happen with Ben and Rachel? Would we ever get to see Rachel’s rack? We will never know. Hit the jump for more.
Unlike Entourage, most of the HTMIIA’s audience and I could relate to Ben and Cam’s daily hustle. Vince, E., Turtle and Drama lived a life most young guys dreamed of. Ben and Cam live the life that I live (loosely speaking, of course) and want, still. They made grinding look cool.
Sure, there were no epic scenes à la Ari’s paintball rampage, but damn it was only two seasons old! Alas, the numbers weren’t there. I guess the show’s fans can attribute that to people like me- the broke college kids that can’t afford the extra $15 a month for the HBO package. I guess I owe a special thank you to Rap Radar for posting every episode at approximately noon every Monday.
Now, a moment of silence for How To Make It In America.
