The alleyways of Brooklyn are lonely after dark.
On October 28 RESPECT. linked with 32 BMX bikers in Little Poland to witness tales of barspins, squeakersons and tailwhips. Pro biker Edwin De La Rosa hand selected the baddest riders in the tri-state telling them to saddle up or punch out. After accepting the challenge the competitors met at Newtown Barge Park to start pedaling. On a cold night where the pavement was as unforgiving as Rick Ross’s next album the riders launched fearlessly into the air off of custom painted ramps, vert walls and rail boxes. It all came down to a six-rider final heat with last year’s winner Scotty Cranmer of New Jersey taking home the trophy. And, yes, this was another dope Red Bull sponsored event for free.
Winners:
1st Scotty Cranmer (NJ)
2nd Pablo Nuñez (NY)
3rd Sean Ricany (NJ)
(Pablo Nuñez launches off the Vert Wall)
(Scotty Cranmer hit big air off the 15 ft quarter pipe)
