Slim Thug released “Creepin” today, which you can listen to above, featuring Bun B and Paul Wall. Yesterday Paul Wall released “Ballin,” featuring Slim Thug (which I’m not linking to, because it’s a mostly terrible Luger-lite knock off that features some surprisingly improved rapping from Paul…but not surprising enough to save the song).
“Creepin” is a triumphant return to the sort of anthems that populated Slim’s long forgotten (has it really been six years??) major label debut Already Platinum. It’s does nothing particularly original and isn’t important in and of itself.
It does, however, feature a sample of Slim Thugga from “Still Tippin,” which is still as woozily incredible and massive as it was when it was released in 2004.
So put a little purple in your sprite and watch the internet go nuts to one of the best Hip-Hop singles of the 2000s.
