You can’t hear the beat without thinking of early Neptunes; you can’t hear the chorus without thinking of Nelly; you can’t hear the bars without thinking of Eminem.
When you hear of his background—a white kid from Toronto, child actor, Degrassi-alum—you’ll try your hardest not to make a Drake comparison.
But when you hear Daniel Kelly, rap alias Deph Naught, spit alongside Royce da 5’9” and Crooked I on their new collaboration, “Lemme Go,” all comparisons go out the window. This 18-year old sounds hungry and displays some deft lyricism, holding his own alongside the two seasoned spitters.
According to his YouTube page, he’s part of Shady Records, which only promises more exciting material.
