Apparently, Academy Award nominated director Peter Spirer is filming a documentary about Soulja Boy’s rise to fame back in 2004. I remember at laughing at the dude off MySpace singing “I got me some Bathing Apes.” Anyways, “Soulja Boy – The Movie” is supposedly coming October 18th.
“Soulja Boy is undoubtedly one of the most creative, entrepreneurial Hip Hop artists I have ever dealt with,” Peter Spirer said. “His ability to monetize the internet and his grasp of social media is unparalleled.”
According to Spirer, Soulja Boy’s enterprising ways, along with his understanding of the Internet world, has opened him up to criticism and even jealousy, from various rappers.
“I think sometimes the press, the public and his peers dismiss him due to lack of understanding or jealousy, and that’s where I hope my film comes in — a straight forward intimate look at a talented young man,” Spirer said.
