The Bien Urbain Festival is well underway in Besançon, France with the intention of making people question the use of public space: How do we enjoy public space? Where is the place for art when grey walls and advertisements are everywhere? The festival is bringing out some of the most influential urban artists worldwide, including, among others, Escif, Moneyless, Nelio, Ox and San.
Also taking part in the Bien Urbain Festival is legendary Spanish artist Sam3, and he’s managed to catch our eye after completing two stunning pieces this week. Sam3’s newest murals are mono-color as in the first he manages to paint with only black, and in the second, only white. Additionally, the technique implemented is quite unique as Sam3 paints only the background as an outline, allowing the original wall to be the focus of the final image. Check out more pics of Sam3’s work at the Bien Urbain festival after the jump.
