No I.D. has landed a new gig as the Executive Vice President of A & R at Def Jam Records. Barry Weiss, the Chairman & CEO of Def Jam, made the announcement earlier this week, which will mean a new day-to-day routine for the Chicago-bred producer. No I.D. now hits the ground running as overseer of current and new artist projects as well as still working in a production role. His work with hip-hop staples–from Kanye West, to Rick Ross and Nas along with many more–will surely serve him well in his new position, and we wish him the best.

TO LAUNCH ARTIUM RECORDINGS (August 30th, 2011 – New York, NY) – Prolific Hip Hop Producer No I.D. (Kanye West, Big Sean, Rick Ross, Method Man, NAS) has been appointed Executive Vice President of A&R for Def Jam Recordings. In addition, Def Jam has signed an exclusive label deal for No I.D.’s Artium Recordings. The announcements were made today by Barry Weiss, Chairman & CEO of Universal Republic and Island Def Jam Motown and Karen Kwak, EVP / Head of A&R, Island Def Jam Music Group. No I.D. will report directly to Mr. Weiss and Ms. Kwak. In his new post, No I.D. will have a comprehensive, broad reaching A&R portfolio.
