XO member, @OmariShakirXo, recently posted what could be an evolution in digital album art. The motion graphic, which appeared on The Weeknd‘s blog earlier this week, suggests an alternative to the typical static album art released via iTunes and other online outlets.
With so many artists, including The Weeknd, releasing music exclusively online, why hasn’t there been a progression in album art? Each viral release could potentially be accompanied by something like this, a motion graphic, as opposed to the traditional back and front cover in .jpeg format. Why hasn’t anyone thought of this? I should be claiming copyrights right now.
