Fresh off the confirmation of his upcoming collaboration with Ghostface, MF Doom was out in Europe at the Montreaux Jazz Festival this week, where his paths crossed with the Robert Glasper Experiment. The jazz group provided a perfect backdrop for Metalface’s “Rhinestone Cowboy” off of the Madvillain album. The Experiment really complements Doom nicely–the contained aggression of his delivery resonates just as powerfully here as it does on the original Madlib production. Come back to the States now, Doom, we need performances like these desperately.
