In an attempt to corner the market for lightweight footwear, Adidas has launched its adiZero Crazy Light for national consumption. Spurred on by a call for lighter footwear, Adidas’ 9.8 ounce shoe (size 10 foot) is two ounces lighter than the next closest shoe, making it the lightest basketball shoe ever made. Adidas gained notoriety with an ad campaign featuring Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose, who many claim to be the fastest baseline-to-baseline player in the league. Don’t be fooled into thinking that lighter means cheaper, these kicks retail for $130.
