The team over at Metromix Chicago has their list of the top 25 hottest artists under 25 years old up now, and there are a few welcome surprises. While choices like Drake and Tyler, the Creator (not to mention every rapper’s favorite Canadian teen, Justin Bieber) were fairly easy, Metromix did a nice job representing cult favorites Theophilus London and Rockie Fresh in the list as well. Good to see respect for the future of the industry, although hip-hop in general is under-represented overall. Clearly the controversial Lil’ B is easy to omit, but the more mainstream artists like B.o.B got left off the list as well. And yes, including Taylor Swift while omitting Rihanna is something of a mortal sin.
