For the past decade, artist Mike Leavitt has been doing a series entitled “Art Army”, a conceptual art project that turns characters like Bansky, Andy Warhol, KAWS, Vincent Van Gogh and just about every other famous artist into representative figurines. The articulating action figures are hand-made with polymer clay, and to date almost 300 original one-off sculptures have been made. This September, Leavitt will take the highest crust of the art world under his hand and will display Jeff Koons, Julian Schnabel, Damien Hirst, Matthew Barney, Richard Serra,Takashi Murakami and others at Jonathan Levine gallery in NYC. This Jeff Koons one can be prepurchased through Jonathan Levine, and comes with an articulating baloon penis. Wonderful.
