$7 million? Does Kim not remember the two songs she has already recorded with Nicki Minaj? One is over a year old, a song by Birdman featuring the two women called “Grindin’ Makin’ Money.” In the same interview, Kim says the song was briefly available on iTunes but later pulled by Cash Money because, according to her, the comments suggested Kim had spit a better verse than Nicki. The other song leaked over the summer and surfaced without too much notice. The song is produced by D-Dot, who says, “As soon as Kim came home from jail–right before ‘Dancing With the Stars’–I was like, ‘There’s this new bitch that’s about to be hot, you might want to fuck with her. Nicki came to the studio and did the verse with me. She hadn’t even met Kim … said ‘cool when you put Nicki on it send it back to me.’ … I sent it back and she never redid a new verse. So that’s the same old Lil Kim reference verse…I didn’t leak the record. The only people that had a copy was Lil Kim and me. So I don’t really know where that came from.” Listen here:

I can’t tell if Nicki is paying homage to or insulting Kim in her verse. It’s generic verses like this that are so easily misconstrued and end up just adding fuel to the fire.
