Hip-hop may not be dead, but the turntable is.
Today marks a sad day in hip-hop history. According to a press release made by Panasonic, production of it’s fabled Technics 1200 turntable has ended. The Technics 1200 has always been and will remain a staple of hip-hop culture. A table embraced by producers, DJ’s, turntablists and vinyl lovers alike, today the Technics 1200 makes its exit.
UPDATE: Panasonic has announced that it is not the entire 1200 line that is being discontinued but more specifically the MK6 model. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
