This legendary rap music video was directed by Fab Five Freddie Braithwaite in 1988. Freddy seamlessly mixed images of posse solidarity, the band’s ‘hood, the legacy of violence and black heroes; all themes that are still around in today’s music videos. Freddy uncovered the strategy to mix bohemian tendencies with the persona of the artists he worked with, in effect creating the template for the music videos we are so used to watching today.
