In honor of the one year anniversary of Michael Jackson’s death, The Source Magazine has profiled Harrison Funk, Jackson’s personal photographer. Funk has photographed some of the best in music, politics, fashion and lifestyle including Madonna, U2, Nelson Mandela and Ice-T. Funk truly understands the art of taking a picture in motion, an imperative attribute for photographing one of the best dancers of all time.
Here’s an excerpt from The Source’s story:
“Music has always been my life. I love the visual aspect of music. You can’t just listen to music without seeing something in everything and that’s what I strive to capture,” says veteran photographer Harrison Funk, who’s exclusive photographs make up this special tribute. “It’s that feeling of music behind the scenes, in front of the audience, why they make the music and how they make the music—the flavor of what they feel must portray to their fans.”
