What happens when Fort Knox Five, Afrika Bambaataa and Mustafa Akbar all come together? One classic hip-hop, dance inducing song with an even more impressive video.
Directed by Stu MacKay Smith and DJ Ball the “Shift” video includes advanced animation techniques and old school B-Boy’s breaking it down. The Vancouver based Now or Never B-Boy crew and the Hybrid Movement Parkour crew are featured alongside go-go dancers Foxy Moron, Nessa V, and Jina Anika.
Fort Knox Five, Bambaataa and Akbar created “Shift” during last years presidential campaign and the out-of-this-world video has come to represent much of what hip-hop is about. Watch and learn.
